I couldn’t keep up with life either — I know what’s missing in your recovery.
Someone who used to live life to the fullest.
With work, friends, family, ambitions.
But since your concussion, everything has changed.
Your energy is unpredictable. Your brain no longer feels like your own.
Lights feel too bright. Sounds too loud. Even a trip to the supermarket can feel like a battlefield.
And while the outside world says “you look fine,” you feel anything but fine.
Friends slowly disappeared. Colleagues don’t understand why you’re still not back.
Even your partner or family might start to question it.
And you? You’d rather shut the world out. Curtains closed. Silence.
You’re not just tired — you’re grieving.
Grieving the life you had, the person you used to be.
You can’t keep up with “normal” life.
Work, parenting, socializing… it all takes too much.
Sometimes even your child’s laughter hurts.
And that breaks your heart—because you’re no longer the person you once were.
You feel guilty. Sad. Alone. Irritated by things that never used to bother you.
And deep down, you wonder: “Is this it now?”
But something in you still says: I want to heal.
You're not looking for the thousandth doctor telling you to "just rest in a dark room and you will be better within 6 weeks"
You want clarity. Recognition. Real tools that actually work.
And ideally, a place where you don’t have to explain what you’re going through.
Welcome to The Concussion Community.
A safe space full of recognition, calm, and practical support.
With lessons, mini-courses, expert knowledge, and most importantly: people who understand.
Because your healing doesn’t have to be lonely.
And it can be easier. Together, we move forward. 💛
❌ Don’t make this concussion the main thing in your life.
❌ We are all getting older, try not to make that a big deal.
❌ Go home and rest as much as possible. You will be better in a few weeks.
❌ You have to start focusing on acceptance, accept that this is it and see what you CAN do.
Recovering from a concussion often turns out very differently than you expected.
There’s so much information, tips, and advice out there that it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, and unsure where to start.
You feel misunderstood because “there’s nothing wrong on the outside.” Friends and family slowly drift away, and you miss your normal social life — yet even being around people can now feel like too much.
Sometimes you just want to shut yourself in, keep the curtains closed, because it all feels like too much. Every sound cuts like a knife. Every light feels like it burns your brain.
You can’t work, and the guilt grows as others take over your tasks.
At home, people don’t understand that after a good day you can suddenly feel worse again.
You don’t recognize yourself anymore. You’ve lost your independence, your sharpness, your joy.
Small things become harder, and even the sound of your children laughing can hurt instead of comfort you.
You want reassurance that your feelings are normal, that you're not crazy but you’re ashamed to talk about it.
And a part of you is afraid: “What if this never gets better?”
The good news? It can be easier.
In The Concussion Community, I’ve gathered all the knowledge and insights I desperately missed during my own recovery.
Here, you’ll find reliable, clear, and practical support that truly helps you move forward — at your own pace, with no pressure.

This community has helped me out of some very dark days when I was giving up hope. I appreciate all of you and especially Silvie, who never stops giving encouragement and resources and has changed my outlook on my recovery. I am seen and heard here and not judged at that alone is a key part of recovery I believe. 💓
Gail Hutton
This community has been an amazing support system three multiple concussions! Not only was I able to find more about how concussions affect the body in different ways with the classes on the community, but it was so helpful to hear about other people's experiences and get recommendations.
Katie Biedenbach
This community is such a big part of my journey today and my mindset in dealing with my life, my symptoms. I have a much better understanding of what is going on, and I have an acceptance of my situation that I haven't had before! I love that we can laugh at some things here and be there for each other! 🧡

Are past the stage of generic doctor advice telling you to “just rest for six weeks and you’ll be fine.” You’ve already tried everything — but you’re still not getting better. They haven’t found the right tools, guidance, or support to move forward yet.
They feel alone, unsafe to share how they really feel — like no one truly understands what they’re going through. Their world doesn’t get it, and they’re starting to wonder if they’re just going crazy.
Who feel trapped in their own body and mind. They barely dare to go outside, they’ve become socially isolated, and they no longer recognize themselves. It makes them anxious, depressed, and it feels like they’re stuck in a dark tunnel with no way out.
They know they need to do something, but everything feels like too much — too much information, too much sensory overload. They can’t see the forest for the trees anymore. They wish they had someone who’s walked the same path, someone who truly gets them.
I have spent hundreds at this point on doctors and yet everything I find here is 100% more helpful. By far the best community I have every joined!
Wendy Mclean
Most importantly, I am finding medical info here that I have been asking my doctors about for 9 (!) years, which they couldn't or wouldn't help me with.
Dylan D.
Had a bad concussion for 3 years then slowly got better and better. Silvie's account here is one of the best info I got than 10-20 high quality doctors I visited, doctors was wasting my time and my $$$
Josh Morgan
I have been a member of the community for over 6 months. I do believe if I had joined Silvie and the amazing people in this community, I would have gotten better sooner. I have found more help than anywhere else. I have done other courses online & I have many specialists. This place definitely gives you more bang for your buck, along with understanding, education, experience and more. Grateful!
Kattie Stinemetze
Your work is amazing! It is really so valuable, comprehensive and supportive like nothing else I have seen in the field of concussion care. I hope you never stop <3

This has been SO much more helpful than any of the doctors' advice I got and honestly, a lot of these are tips and tricks I will continue to use forever. I am feeling SO much better and this group has been a massive gamechanger for me.

I'm Silvie, 33 years old and based in The Netherlands.
In May 2017, I was in a scooter accident that left me with a concussion and whiplash. For years, I felt torn between wanting to take back my life and needing to listen to my body and rest.
I often felt misunderstood: people said, “But you don’t look sick,” while inside I felt broken. My social life disappeared—friends stopped texting and visiting. Sometimes I stayed inside for days, curtains closed, overwhelmed by the outside world.
I couldn’t work, and my colleagues didn’t understand why I wasn’t back yet. The guilt of letting down my work and family weighed heavily on me. I felt completely alone with my pain, frustration, and slow recovery.
I longed for reassurance—a place where I could be myself without judgment, where I wouldn’t have to constantly explain how I felt. A place where I wouldn’t be made to feel crazy.
After years of struggling, googling, trying everything, I’m finally about 90% myself again. But that journey was long and lonely—And that’s exactly what I don’t want for others.
My mission is to help you:
✨ Reduce symptoms, enjoy life again, shift your mindset and return to work and (social) activities
—but most importantly, without having to do it alone.
Here is everything I missed, gathered in one place for you.

This group has literally changed my life. For 3 years, I was always questioning myself if I am just making up these symptoms because most medical drs didn't believe me or wouldn't help. Now I feel heard and supported and not alone!! That's priceless!!! Thank you Silvie 🙏🏼❤️

This has been the single best place for advice and support that I've found in my 3 years of PCS! You've made me feel so much less alone, so supported, so seen and validated. Absolutely floored with the difference it's made. You've gotten me so much closer to the finish line!

I've been part of The Concussion Community for a few months now and have found it to be such a welcoming and supportive community to be part of. Silvie shares her own experiences with warmth, empathy and compassion and has created a wealth of resources to support recovery from concussion. These resources and classes are well presented and an invaluable opportunity to learn from real experts in concussion recovery and management. Since my concussion and how it's changed my life, I've felt really isolated but being part of this community has given me so many ways to better manage my symptoms while making connections with other people who are experiencing the same thing and hearing their inspiring stories of recovery too.
Catherine Bash O-Rourke
The Concussion Community has been a valuable resource in my recovery! After 3 concussions in 2 years, I only wish I had signed up sooner. The wealth of information available, the kindness and support of the community members and the weekly check-ins make this a wonderful resource. Thank you Silvie for all your hard work

I should have mentioned that for a year before I joined the Concussion Community I had joined another concussion group that I was paying for, for over a year. Silvie would still respond to my messages, help me trouble shoot some things, and she was always supportive to me- even though I had not joined the community yet. I had not paid a dime. She just cares & is so passionate about what she has created here. I can honestly say- don’t waste your time & money on the other online groups. This is definitely the one you want.

I met Silvie and the The Concussion Community that she built, shortly after it was launched. I joined for many reasons, equal parts - Silvie's integrity - composed of her compassionate competence and the resources for those working through brain injuries, including concussions. There are few sites I recommend but the Concussion Community is among the top. After a single month - if partaking in the resources - you will know if it works. I promise that it can and does. Silvie and her Concussion Community help provide Hope - when the injured need it most, along with their caregivers. Yes - I recommend for loved ones and caregivers, as much as the injured!

Screens are hard for me to handle, I am worried about getting overwhelmed...
I totally get it. I had a hard time handling screens as well. That's why we try to make your recovery easier. Instead of searching for information yourself, we did this for you. We offer all the knowledge you need to know in easy-to-watch classes, courses, and other content. We did our best to make them simple and easy to watch. Tip: You can listen to most of them as well and you can follow everything at your own pace.
There is a welcome guide, so you will know exactly where to find what's on the platform. It's easy to navigate. All information is combined in easy-to-watch classes, courses, and other content. You can follow everything at your own pace.
How much time does this community take?
That's totally up to you! Some people are active in the community every day, while others participate once a week. You can follow everything at your own pace, so there’s no need to feel stressed or rushed.
I didn't sustain a concussion but have another TBI. Can this community be helpful for me too?
As many symptoms are similar, the community can also be helpful for people dealing with a stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, long COVID, or any other traumatic brain injury.
If you’re doubting or want to discuss if this works for you, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] so I can think along with you.
Why should I choose your community instead of sessions with a therapist?
This community is specially designed for people with a concussion to get maximum results.
Instead of undergoing multiple sessions with a therapist, you also need to ensure that they possess sufficient knowledge about concussions. Many treatments are either general or lack specific knowledge about concussions.
This community saves you:
Time from finding the right therapists who know what they are doing.
Money because a single session may already cost more than $50.
(Travel) stress, time and energy because you don’t have fixed appointments to travel to over and over again.
Do you give medical advice?
I don’t give medical advice, everything is based on the knowledge from 84 concussion experts, what I learned from concussion experts, experiences with other people, and my own experience.
By remaining in this community, you are accepting that you have read, understood, and agreed to my disclaimer.

This is an incredible platform! Finally a place where you can find great information from top professionals in the Concussion World. It helps so much to feel empowered when there’s people out there providing information that can truly help with your recovery. Also being able to hear everyone’s stories and not feel judged by sharing your experience as well is very healing. I realized after only a day being apart of the concussion community how many symptoms that I was dealing with were from my concussion and not from poor daily choices. We can be so hard on ourselves sometimes, this community has allowed me to create more space in my mind to focus on healing and what CAN be done. There’s so much value in this community even more so then I’ve found in the healthcare system in my country. I think a big reason is that it was created by someone with a concussion for people with a concussion and the focus is healing, improving no matter what and kindness. Super happy to Recommend the Concussion Community to anyone struggling with a head injury this community will be super helpful.
Thank you CC

I have said this since day 1 of joining Silvie her blog and group, she is amazing! There is so much information shared on her sites and I love it very much. I suffer from numerous neurological issues and I have to remind myself, others cannot see that. With the help from The Concussion Community, I have found ways to share that with others so they understand me better. Highly recommend others join this group and learn and share everything.
